All Right Ok

Alright OK!
is the single from Masia One forthcoming album “No. 1”.  A mix-up of Hip Hop,
Dance-Hall and World flavor, the single’s infectious beat and positive lyrics will put a
bounce in your dance steps and extra bass bump in your speaker, reminding the world
to “Put down the guns, and Pull up the light!”

Alright OK! was written by Masia One during the man hunt for Dudas Coke in Kingston
Jamaica.  This international incident sought to extradite the renown drug trafficker to the
USA for trail, yet for local Kingstonians living in the garrison, Dudas Coke was a hero
having built schools, hospitals, roads and improving the living conditions of the
ghetto.  The song playfully compares cops and robbers and sometimes being 2 sides of
the same coin – a villain to some and a champion to others.  The struggle between law
makers and local youth defending the where abouts of Coke, led to martial law in the
streets where Masia One saw some of her friends shot down by police.  Violence is
never the answer, and the chorus of the song asks for everyone to “Put down the guns
and pull up the light”

Verse 1
From the heart of the beast, call it LA zoo
Still reppin’ in the East, where dem face gone screw (T.O.)
Signed, sealed on a lease for an ocean view
Now I’m living at peace, and that’s alright now
Ghetto birds fly sky so blue
Robbers, crooks and theives, are lot like you
Undercover police, big feet bad shoes
That’s how they live, then sing alright now

HOOK 2
Put down the guns, pull up the light eah?
Hear dem really wanna dance instead of fight here
Mi nah really wanna kick off the night dear
Step out the place, feel the good vibes yah

Put down the guns, pull up the light eah?
Hear my people wanna dance instead of fight here
Mi nah really wanna kick off the night dear
Step out the place, feel the good vibes yah

Verse 2 (Rap)
Just another story for the boys in the pen
Look who’s at it again?
Shorty du-wop a 10
Now I do the damn thing while the pigeons complain
When I rock, keep em’ jitten like we in Michigan, uh huh!
Detroit city getting gritty begin,
peace out to J. Dilly busting donuts and rims
Shimmy yah! Screwface in the city of Sin
Knocking back 7 Grand Whiskey Ginger and Gin
Ever since was that bitty from Jamaica, Miss Chin
Westcoast Vancity on the come up again
In this big bad world without the gangster within
Gotta make your mark girl with a pad and a pen
And I’m steady robbering industry for a fin
Then I take it to the streets for a twinny twin twin
Jeans sag, nickel bag, grimace I am –
Tag them drippy drippy tags out my Lioness den
Hold it down til I stack all the chips in the bank,
Paper chasing for my freedom, or an ocean and tan, I get it in.

Verse 3
Po Po on the corner then carry on,
Vampire dem a crawl in Babylon
If you roll through the hood where yute a gwaan
Whoot Whoot (police siren) it’s not your day now
